(Mar.30) Cultural relic researchers in Xuwen County, Guangdong Province
discovered a Hakka-style ancestral house in Beitan Village. The house was
built by the offspring of Deng Bangjun, a successful candidate for the
highest imperial exam during the Qing Dynasty. It is the first
Hakka-style ancestral house to have been found in the county and the best
preserved and biggest on the Leizhou Peninsula by far. The photo shows
the interior of the ancestral house.
