Online games a gold mine

On February 28, the General Administration of Press and Publication
released its report on the 2004 online game market, claiming that its
overall earnings reached 2.47 billion yuan in 2004, an increase of 47.9%
over 2003. Revenue for the market was expected to reach 10.96 billion
yuan by 2009, at an annual 34.7% rate of increase from 2004. Online games
are quickly becoming a gold mine for the Internet industry.
